Springbank Whisky Shop

We are very proud to be able to work directly with Springbank & to provide the fine whisky drinking folk of Derbyshire
the distinctive Campbeltown malts of Springbank, Longrow, Hazelburn & Kilkerran.

Please note that we are collection only. We don’t post out as there just isn’t enough to go around!

There’s a fine write-up on these Campbeltown distilleries (through the conduit of Springbank’s ‘Eat, Sleep, Dram, Repeat Experience’)
by Christophe Roy, a spirits expert from France that we were lucky enough to share this amazing
Springbank experience with. Read Christophe’s Blog post here

Springbank
First produced in 1828, Springbank Single Malts are lightly peated & are uniquely distilled two & a half times to produce single malts that are made entirely in-house, employing traditional skills that have been passed down from one generation to the next.

Springbank 5 Year Old, 100 Proof, 57.1%. £49
Released quarterly; this new whisky has a 5 year age statement, is matured in Bourbon barrels, and bottled at 57.1%.
There is a bright and vibrant start to this dram, green apples, gorse bush, wine gums, and a mineral note. The palate is well balanced with a touch of peat smoke, icing sugar and white chocolate. Notes of sunflower seeds and linseed oil develop. The finish brings notes of honey and gooseberries.

Springbank 10 Year Old. 46%. £55
Matured in a combination of 60% Bourbon, 40% Sherry casks, this is an absolute Campbeltown classic !
A cereal note, along with notes of mango, vanilla pods, tangy pineapple and honeycomb. The fruit and cereal notes carry through to the palate in hints of oatmeal, malted barley and orange pulp. Heather honey, hard toffee, nutmeg and cinnamon notes develop. A characteristic sea salt note rounds off this dram.

Longrow
Named after one of the many lost distilleries of Campbeltown old; Longrow was first produced in 1973 to provide a peaty, oily and robust component to a blend being created at the time. This double distilled malt is more heavily peated.

Longrow Peated, 46%. £52
Matured in Bourbon and Sherry Casks; Longrow Peated offers those who enjoy a heavily peated whisky a lingering, smoky taste that travels through the senses like the smoke billows from a kiln!

Nose: Very creamy, vanilla custard. The smoke develops gradually, rather than overpowering the other aromas present. Toasted marshmallows, herbs and rich fruits appear over time.
Palate: Incredibly well balanced; rich and creamy with a slight medicinal hint. The smoke is always present, washing over the palate in waves, like the soft billows of smoke from the Kiln.
Finish: The gentle smoke lingers and lingers leaving you yearning for more.

Longrow 100 Proof, 2025 Release, 57.1%. £65
The characteristic Longrow peat smoke is married with the subtle influence of Pinot Noir wine casks and bottled at proof strength. This whisky has been matured for almost 4 years in refill bourbon casks & just over 2 years in refill pinot noir casks. Whilst the classic Campbeltown funk may be a bit harder to find in this one, it definitely offers up an interesting interpretation, with that Longrow peatiness combining with bright, lively red fruits & earthy notes from the pinot noir casks.

Hazelburn
Taking its name from one of Campbeltown’s lost distilleries; Hazelburn was first produced at Springbank Distillery in 1997. Making full use of all three stills, this range is triple distilled and unpeated resulting in a spirit that is creamy, delicate and light.

Hazelburn 10YO, 46%, £55 (SOLD OUT)
The Hazelburn 10 Year Old is the flagship single malt in the Hazelburn Range. It is an unpeated Campbeltown expression that is aged in Bourbon cask.
Nose: Sweet and tropical on the nose, notes of baked pineapple, lemon sherbert, honeycomb and dried orange peel introduce this delicate dram.
Palate: Sweet and savoury notes come together on the palate, with notes of green apples complemented by a slight vegetal quality. There is a creaminess present in notes of pastel de nata and custard creams.
Finish: There is a subtle earthiness in the finish, with hints of salted caramel, ginger, toasted coconut and a mineral note.

Kilkerran
Kilkerran is a Single Malt produced 3 months a year at the historic Campbeltown distillery, Glengyle.
The majority of the time is spent producing lightly peated, double distilled new make, with three weeks dedicated to heavily peated and one week to each unpeated and triple distilled new make.

Kilkerran 8 Year Old Cask Strength 2026 release. 57.7% £65.
This is the new 2026 release. 100% Bourbon matured and bottled at a slightly more punchy abv than previous releases, at 57.7%

A typically zesty introduction to this dram, there are notes of key lime pie, apple jelly, honey and vanilla.

Sea salt and brine notes emerge in the finish, along with a gorse note.

Kilkerran 12 Year Old, 46%. £52

Kilkerran Heavily Peated, Batch 13, 58.6%. £55
In stark contrast to the lightly peated single malts, ‘Heavily Peated’ is released twice per year at cask strength and around 45PPM. It is predominantly matured in ex-bourbon casks with a small sherry cask influence and features a bold, smoky character balanced by notes of sweet butterscotch, honeydew melon, and a subtle savoury cured meat character.
